Do you get enough sleep?
by Paige Glissman
The TomaHawk surveyed that most East High students hate waking up in the morning. Most students put sleep as their last priority. Making their bed time late puts students on a schedule to only go to bed late. Very often do students ever get enough sleep.
Some students at EHS have responsibility to go to bed on time and get up for school. Many students go to bed way later than 11 pm. 10 pm and times around there seem to be the time the attendants of EHS go to bed.
Most surveys show that teenagers in high school should get at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep a night. Young people usually need more sleep than older people. You will get the best sleep if you go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. If EHS students get into a habit like this, they could possibly improve their school work. Of boys and girls very little say that they get the desired 8 to 9 hours.
Some students at EHS believe that waking up and getting ready for school doesn’t affect the way the day goes. If you wake up and you’re tired, you come to school and become livelier because you’re with your friends. But when you’re tired in class students tend to fall asleep and not pay attention. Getting more sleep would help out a lot.
